UI change in Google results pages

I was just trying to search from flock search box and saw a new interface for Google search results. A new coloumn on the left side appeared for the first time with links to services like Google Images, Maps, News & Groups. I was not able to reproduce the same when searching from Google homepage search box.

Is this another way of pushing Google's services even if I dont want them??? Which other scenarios produce similar interfaces???

Digg on Google - Organic or Co-op?

I know this had been an ongoing debate on Digg community whether Google results must be include Digg news. Just adding my two cents to it. I found this Digg news on Google search results now.

I searched for World's smallest man and found this digg listing at 10th place. To expand the ongoing discussion, lets try to analyse the scenario. Is the result redundant???

There is this Co-op module for digg which displays something like onebox results. I think this module would be useful for who already knows about Digg. What about others who are yet to become a part of Digg community? How will we add new members to the DIGG community?

The DIGG listings might NOT be redundant to them. Infact, the Digg listing is only going to add further value with its valuable comments by other diggers. After all, who would resist to receive the community feedback on their favourite topic???

I strongly think Digg listings MUST be included in Google results. I'm sure it DIGG is another special website just as Wikipedia and would add a great value because of valuable community feedback for each topic.

What do you think?

Shilpa Vs Jade: Is it racism?

For the past 6 or 7 hours, I am learning about one news, just abt a SINGLE thing, right from my good old TV to radio and all across Internet, "Shilpa vs Jade". The issue has even been raised in UK parliament.

The attention generated around this is just too high than it deserves. The issue can be simplified to a single question: "Is it racism?"

Frankly, jus as this blogger, I dont think so. The issue must be treated at the "individual" levels and NOT at national or international levels. More specifically, this incident must NOT be related to a sensitive issue like "racism".

Staying with new people for months in an isolated world can't be entirely so "sweet". And it definitely can't "start" sweeter. After all, that is the concept of a reality show - to withstand such hurdles. Except for this outraged controversy, I'd not seen or learnt about this show in the past.

It is ofcourse a mistake if Shilpa was referred to as a "Paki dog". But I believe the game rules are stronger enough to flag this contestant in such a case. This issue MUST just be seen as a game. Nothing more, nothing less.

It doesn't make sense to make this a global issue. IMHO, it doesn't deserve that kind of attention. As anyone would agree, this is a typical "girly" fight. I'm confident that Shilpa is stronger enough to handle such issues considering her successful attitude in Bollywood. Being a Tamilian, it was never tough for her to deal with native Hindi co-workers. "Big Brother" row is just going to be a "round-2" to showcase her attitude.

This row is only adding atleast few more million votes in support of Shilpa. Click here and keep voting your favourite stars. :D

“I am arrive by passenger train Ahmedpur station and my belly is too much swelling with jackfruit. I am therefore went to privy. Just I doing the nuisance that guard making whistle blow for train to go off and I am running with ‘lotah’ in one hand and ‘dhoti’ in the next when I am fall over and expose all my shocking to man and female women on plateform. I am got leaved at Ahmedpur station. This too much bad, if passenger go to make dung that dam guard not wait train five minutes for him. I am therefore pray your honour to make big fine on that guard for public sake. Otherwise I am making big report to papers.”

Okhil Chandra Sen wrote this letter to the Sahibganj divisional railway office in 1909. It is on display at the Railway Museum in New Delhi. It was also reproduced under the caption “Travellers’ Tales” in the Far Eastern Economic Review.

Any guesses why this letter is of historic value?
It led to the introduction of TOILETS in trains!!!!!!!!!

Heights of ad humour

If an adamant child is a non-sense then this child is non-sense whole squared. Of course the father of the child has to be appreciated for his endurance. Guess what the video is about. I am sure that you would guess wrong.

TOP browser yesterday

I know IE has a market share of around 80% globally followed by Firfox and others. But my visitors are almost equally divided between Firefox and IE. However, posting Saddam's video on my blog increased the browser share to 65% for IE and just around 25% for Firefox.

Just thought we'll run a simple poll to determine browser market share in blogosphere and diggnation. Which browser tops the list on your Google Analytics (or any other related software you use) in the past 24 hours?

Full Saddam Execution Video Leaked from Cellphone

This is a rather diturbing video.
TPM Cafe quotes:
It's hard to know who is directing this internet traffic, but it can be concluded there were elements within America's government and/or military, working in concert with Iraq's current scarecrow power-holders, who wanted as many people as possible in the world to see Saddam hang.
